Celebrate your weddings, receptions, and other happy events in the elegant 19th-century, Federal style structure on Main Street in Hingham.  Old Derby Academy is where you can feel history while you take a step into the future.

Enjoy being surrounded with the ambience of a historical place where boys and girls were learning Latin, mathematics, and geography more than 200 years ago.  Co-education prospered here.

The Tap Room in the Old Ordinary, a one-time way station, where weary travelers or residents of Hingham could get a meal, a drink and conversation with such as Daniel Webster and Benjamin Lincoln, a Revolutionary War general who fought with George Washington. Today, the 17th-century structure is a house museum owned and operated by the Hingham Historical Society.
