House Tour 2008

Sponsored by the Hingham Historical Society, the 84th Annual Tour of Historic Hingham Homes will include seven private homes and five historic buildings and places.

Believed to be the longest running house tour in the country, since 1924, The Annual Pilgrimage to Historic Hingham Homes and Buildings, as it was once known, has contributed to maintaining Hingham’s special identity.

Hingham Historical Society’s major fundraiser includes six private houses featuring:

Historic sites nearby include the c.1680 Old Ordinary House Museum, the 1818 Old Derby Academy, the 1807 New North Church, the 1681 Old Ship Meeting House and Hingham Cemetery where many early settlers are buried.

At Old Derby, browse our Gift Shop.  No cameras or spike heels will be allowed on the tour.

Proceeds from our tour help maintain and staff the Hingham Historical Society's two historic sites, Old Derby Academy and the Old Ordinary House Museum.

Tickets on Tour Day will be $25 and will be sold only at the Old Ordinary House Museum, 21 Lincoln Street, Hingham after 10 a.m. At that time tickets will be exchanged for tour books which are required for entry to the homes.
