The Hingham Historical Society, founded in 1914, is a member-supported non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting the history of the town of Hingham, Massachusetts, founded in 1635. We offer educational programs, exhibits, and year-round activities for families, students who seek to gain a deeper appreciation our community's and our nation's history.
Become a member. The Hingham Historical Society always welcomes new members. Benefits of membership include advance notice of events, free admission to the Old Ordinary, and a subscription to our monthly newsletter. More importantly, membership means you're supporting the preservation of Hingham's historic character.
Volunteer. There are many ways to get involved. The Hingham Historical Society has volunteer opportunities for every skill and interest level, and welcomes everyone from high school students to seniors. Whether you can offer a little time or a lot, you just might find you'll get much more than you give.
